Warning Description: Areal Flood Advisory

Warning Date: 7:05 PM MST on July 29, 2015

WarningSum:

Warning Message:The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a
* small stream Flood Advisory for...
eastern Maricopa County in south central Arizona...
southern Gila County in east central Arizona...
northeastern Pinal County in southeastern Arizona...
* until 1000 PM MST
* at 703 PM MST...Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding in the
advisory area. Minor flooding is also possible across area roads
  and other low lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Superior...Top of the World...Boyce Thompson Arboretum and Top-of-
the-World. Minor flooding may also occur along Highway 60 west of
  Miami towards Superior.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice...turn around...dont drown.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams...as well as farm and country roads. Do not
attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.
A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated...or
ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.
It takes only a few inches of swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles
away.
