Warning Description: Flash Flood Warning
Warning Date: 11:23 PM MST on July 3, 2009
WarningSum:...A Flash Flood Warning Remains In Effect Until 1230 Am Mst For
Central Maricopa County...
Warning Message:At 1115 PM MST...National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a
downtrend to thunderstorm activity over Rainbow Valley.
However...runoff will continue through at least midnight causing
flooding of normally dry washes in and near Waterman wash along with
country roads.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice...turn around...dont drown.

Warning Message:The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a
* small stream flood advisory for...
central Maricopa County in south central Arizona...
west central Pinal County in south central Arizona...
* until 530 am MST.
* At 1134 PM MST runoff from earlier storms in and near the Sand
Tank Mountains and Estrella mountains was causing normally dry
washes to run. This includes the Santa Rosa wash and the vekol
wash from near Interstate 8 to the confluence with the Santa Cruz
Wash. Runoff in the vekol wash is expected to linger through 5 am
causing flooding of any unbridged crossings.
